November 2008 Mike and Anna finally came to meet Austin. They got him some wonderful books that he'll enjoy for years to come. In the past week Austin has started to smile for mommy and daddy every day. He even tries to imitate some of daddy's silly facial expressions. He's also become really attentive to his surroundings. He's always looking around and taking everything in; even if it's just the pattern of a blanket. Playtime is a lot more fun now too. Austin will watch his mobile or lie on his playmat and excitedly kick his legs and wave his arms around. He's also started to look at the books while we read to him. Overall he's become more aware and more active in the past few weeks." Nov 11: Austin is two months old this week. He has been doing really well. He is becoming more and more aware every day, and he loves to watch everything going on around him. He smiled at himself in the mirror for the first time, and his smiles to mommy and daddy are becoming more and more frequent. He is napping much better during the day (he was taking only 15 minute naps for a while) and this has led to better sleeping at night, too. His record is 7 hours of non-stop sleeping! Wow! He has grown so quickly and now weighs in at 12.5 pounds. We can't believe that we used to be able to hold him on our forearm. His neck is getting really strong and before we know it, he'll be holding his head up on his own. Nov 23: Joanne and Gabe came from afar to visit Austin when we were at Nana and Papa's house; this was the first time they got to see Austin!
