February 12th update: Austin turned 5 months old yesterday! He is becoming a busy little boy. He loves to play, and studies things for a very long time, moving them around in his hands. His favourites right now are his rings, monkey family tree, Glow-worm, Lion, and of course his old standbys, Gipper the frog and Lambert the sheep. He also loves playing with plastic and the daily flyers! His teeth have been giving him some pain and he is soothed by peeled carrots and large apple pieces (Nana's ideas), cold cloths and his fingers. We celebrated his five-month birthday by giving him his first Baby Mum-mum (a rice cracker), which is good for teething and he gobbled it right down! There was no hesitation in putting it in his mouth. He has been rolling occasionally - he actually rolled for the first time in December but then didn't do it again for another month. He is getting really good at tummy time and doesn't complain like he used to, now he just grunts with frustration if he can't figure out how to flip over. In the past few weeks he discovered his toes, and succeeded in putting one foot into his mouth yesterday. A few weeks ago we had Mike and Anna for dinner and decided to try out his high chair. Up to this point he was joining us for meals on the Bumbo. He LOVED it! He sat and played with his toys while we ate, and talked and talked and talked! We sure do love this little boy.
When ya gotta go, ya gotta go I'm workin' on it, Mom... ... oh oh ... ...ahhhh, that feels better!
